This documents highlights the main terms of our EPICURUS Peace of Mind Policy. EPICURUS means EPICURUS LIFE LTD., a Company registered under the laws of Hong-Kong under Company Number 2767320, located at the following address: EPICURUS LIFE LTD - French Chamber of Commerce And Industry, 21/F On Hing Building, 1 On Hing Terrace, Central, Hong-Kong.

PEACE OF MIND

Peace of mind means a positive shopping experience on EPICURUS. Only positive people and positive feelings allowed! Our goal is to help minimize any troublesome issues that may arise at time of purchase, during your purchase and after your purchase, and this includes all parties involved, that is to say peace of mind for yourself, the end-customer, as our priority, as well as for our EPICURUS merchants sellers, and this includes us too, EPICURUS.

Peace of Mind means first knowing that you will always find EPICURUS team members to answer your questions, deal with your queries or issues, before, during or after purchase. Be it via email or over the phone or via any available communications channels now and in the future. We are committed to the highest standards of Customer Interaction and Service, as are our approved EPICURUS Merchants / Sellers.

Please note that EPICURUS remains your first point of contact at all times for any customer queries pertaining to your purchases on EPICURUS. We will liaise with our merchants / sellers on your behalf whenever is required to answer or solve your query.

SHIPPING INSURANCE

NOTA BENE: This policy does not cover jewellery above $300 nor perishable goods (Most of our jewellery will be shipped through insured parcels, so please check with us on this prior to placing your order. You may contact us directly regarding this on contact@epicurus.life).

We highly recommend that you opt-in at time of checkout for our 1% EPICURUS Peace of Mind shipping insurance coverage offered to you via our select partner ROUTE (Whose registered office is located at: Silicon Slopes, Lehi, UT 84043). This insurance policy is underwritten by LLOYD’S of London (Whose registered address is Lloyd’s, One Lime Street, London EC3M 7HA). ROUTE has got an amazing team, and we are delighted to be working with them directly to offer this option to the EPICURUS Shoppers. This will make sure that the items that our merchants / sellers despatch to you are insured against loss, theft and mishandling during shipping. 

This insurance can be purchased in one click at time of checkout, for a symbolic amount of 1% of the purchased item’s price. The cost is as follows: $0.98 for all items priced up to £100, and then 1% of the item’s value for all items from $100 up to $15,000 (EXCLUDING JEWELLERY AND PERISHABLE GOODS). Easy and really not worth taking any chances with your order getting lost, stolen or mishandled during shipping!

We respond to all eligible claims within 24 hours. Once we fill a claim on your behalf count 8 days for the claim to be investigated and processed. Provided the claim being accepted and a replacement item is in stock, the item will then be repurchased on your behalf and resent to you.

Since we now offer this peace of mind option to EPICURUS’ Shoppers, we will decline any responsibility on all shipments for which this Peace of Mind insurance has not been subscribed to during checkout.

Nota Bene: Any returns shipments [See Returns Section of this policy, further below] will have, however, to be insured by yourself, at your discretion. We decline all responsibility if we do not receive your item back. This might change in the future and if we are able to provide you with a cost-effective and efficient option to insure returned shipments.

DELIVERY, SHIPPING COSTS

The delivery is currently included on all orders - Included in our listed prices - so while the systems indicate ‘Free Shipping’ at check-out there is actually a cost, included in our prices. Our check-out process might change in the very near future to reflect worldwide shipping rates, tax and duties at checkout, and we will be notifying this here accordingly in this policy.

Once your order is placed and depending on the order we might contact you personally to discuss the most suitable delivery option(s) and delivery date(s). We might also need to verify your ID. Any orders placed after 12pm, over the weekend or on non-working days will be addressed the following working day.

As stated above in this policy, we offer you the possibility to insure shipping on all your orders during check-out for a 1% 'EPICURUS Peace of Mind' of the cart price, backed by the world acclaimed LLOYDS of London Group, the oldest and largest shipping insurance company in the world. You can rest assured you are in good hands and claims will be handled quickly, typically within 7 days.

To activate this shipping insurance at time of checkout simply purchase the EPICURUS Peace of Mind Insurance by adding it to your cart in the amount of 1% of your total cart order (This option will be offered to you automatically at checkout).

NOTA BENE: This shipping insurance only applies to products with value not exceeding $15,000 and does not apply to jewellery which price exceeds $300 nor perishable goods. For any products exceeding this amount please contact us to discuss your options prior to making your purchase, or please make sure that you have secured your own private shipping insurance.

Once the delivery has been deemed made, you are the legal owners of the items and we are not responsible for the purchased item any more.

A valid photo ID (a driving license or passport) will be required for some orders to be delivered.

CUSTOM DUTIES AND TAX FOR INTERNATIONAL SHIPMENTS

Items shipped internationally may be subject to customs duties and sales or Value Added Tax (VAT) set by the destination country. These fees are not calculated prior to customs clearance in that country and are in addition to the price and shipping cost you are charged when checking out. (VAT is typically included in the price of an item. If the seller says it isn’t included, we recommend you contact the local customs agency to verify the import charges.) To complete your purchase, you are required to acknowledge that any customs duties and taxes that apply are your responsibility. 

14-DAYS RETURN POLICY

NOTA BENE: PLEASE DO NOT CONTACT OUR MERCHANTS / SELLERS DIRECTLY, EPICURUS IS YOUR FIRST POINT OF CONTACT. IF YOU CONTACT OUR SELLERS REGARDING A REFUND OR RETURN THEY WILL REFER YOU TO EPICURUS AS THE FIRST POINT OF CONTACT.

We hope that you are delighted with your purchase, however should you wish to exchange or return your order they will be accepted within 14 days of the date of delivery as long as your items are in perfect condition. You have14 days from the official date of delivery to return your item under the conditions highlighted here. This applies for instance if you simply change your mind or if the product does not fit (for instance if you selected the wrong size).

Please do not send your purchase back to the original manufacturer / merchant or to us unless first instructed by us. If you return, ship back a product to us or to one of our merchants / sellers or manufacturers without having first received such instruction from us in writing to do so, we EPICURUS and our merchants / sellers decline all responsibility and will not be obliged to follow through on any of your subsequent queries including that of fulfilling any return procedure. So let’s make sure this does not happen please, because we want to ensure that all goes smoothly with your return!

Within that 14-days period if you wish to return your product for any given reason, the first thing to do is to immediately notify us by email on contact@epicurus.life as well as via the chat on www.epicurus.life stating your name, order number, product description, reason for the return, and we will be reverting to you either immediately or within 12 hours to initiate the return procedure.

Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we will not be able to offer you a refund or exchange. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in its original packaging.

Several types of goods are exempt from being returned: Perishable goods such as gourmet, fine food or intimate apparel, as well as any items on sale, cannot be returned. Returns of customised orders are at our merchants / sellers' discretion.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase. We might also ask you to send us some pictures of the item or its packaging.

We might ask you for a proof of ID (Driving License or Passport). We might require to make contact in person over the phone, chat or SKYPE so our friendly customer team can discuss the matter with you and expedite your query swiftly.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Any international customs duties and taxes will not be refunded.

If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

We obviously can not guarantee that we will receive your returned item. Therefore, if you are shipping an item over $75, we highly recommend that you use a trackable shipping service and purchase your own shipping insurance.

REFUNDS (IF APPLICABLE)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied

to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days. There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted (if applicable).

Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, please first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, as it frequently takes some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you have done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at contact@epicurus.life and we will immediately investigate and revert to you with 24 hours outside of bank holidays or week-ends.

Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded. Feel free in any instance to email us with your query on contact@epicurus.life so we are able to discuss things with you.

Our EPICURUS Merchants / Sellers acknowledge that a return in terms of the EPICURUS Peace of Mind Policy shall be deemed to have complied with the EPICURUS Peace of Mind Policy if you return your item within the stipulated period (14 days from the date of delivery). This will apply notwithstanding the fact that our Seller may only receive the actual product(s) at a time after expiration of the applicable period.

Nota Bene: The ultimate decision on whether or not to refund you will always lie with EPICURUS and not our Merchants / Sellers.

WARRANTY

For any Warranty claim please contact us on contact@epicurus.life.

Nota Bene: Do not contact our Merchants / Sellers first. If you contact them directly they will first refer you to EPICURUS.

Our Merchants / Sellers are obligated to facilitate all warranty claims made within 60 days of purchase date by you, or within the warranty period provided by the applicable Original Equipment Manufacturer and attached to the Product.

We will liaise with our Merchants / Sellers regarding your claim within 24 hours of your claim being received by us in writing and take it from there!

ONLINE SECURITY

When it comes to online security our EPICURUS marketplace is powered by SIGNIFYD, the global leader in online fraud prevention, working with the likes of LACOSTE, GUCCI and LUXOTTICA, WALMART, BILLABONG, BED BATH AND BEYOND, KYLIE COSMETICS, and REVLON. SIGNIFYD have powerful anti-fraud security systems, backed by a wonderful team and we share common company values.

We will not tolerate any tampering with our platform and systems, and investigate and pursue any fraudster with the full force of the law. Creating a safe and secure online shopping environment for all customers and our sellers on EPICURUS ranks at the top of our Corporate priorities.

YOUR TRANSACTIONS SECURITY

EPICURUS is powered by Shopify, whose registered office is located 150 Elgin Street, 8th Floor, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada K2P 1L4

Your shipping and billing information are securely stored on Shopify’s PCI Compliant servers and is

only shared with EPICURUS’ systems if an order is placed. Shopify’s compliance covers all six PCI standard categories and therefore applies to EPICURUS. All transactions are SSL Protected, PCI Compliant and Encrypted.

  • PCI Security Standards Council is a globally recognized organization dedicated to maintaining standards for the secure processing of credit card transactions. It helps vendors, like Shopify and Shopify merchants, process credit card payments securely and protect cardholder information. Shopify is certified Level 1 PCI DSS compliant.   • Service Organization Control (SOC) reports are an assessment of a company’s information systems by third-party auditors that certify that the company meets an independent set of standards, including criteria related to the security and availability of its services.   • Our Marketplace transactions taking place between EPICURUS and our SELLERS are presentely powered by STRIPE (Whose registered address is located at 185 Berry Street, Suite 550, San Francisco, CA, 94107, United States) and our STRIPE RADAR Fraud detection systems are also active. We do not share any of your financial information (Credit card or Bank details) with our EPICURUS Merchants / Sellers, unless duly requested by authorized by you.

  • All transactions are SSL (Secure Socket Layer) protected. Your information is securely transmitted during the processing of all payments.

  • Stripe is also a PCI Service Provider Level 1 which is the highest grade of payment processing security. You can rest assured that your information is safe and secure.

  • All credit card numbers are encrypted and safely stored in Stripe's state of the art data-center. This ensures both the security and integrity of your information.
